Hudson Estate is a new project in Ballito by HBR Projects,

Following the success of HBR Projects’ development at Manor Estates, the company has committed to developing the all new Hudson Estate. Hudson lies adjacent to Shortens Estate and is opposite Caledon Estate. (See areal view below)

The new Hudson Estate site is a 5.135 hectre parcel of land conveniantly located just 350 metres from Ballito Drive and within 1.5 km of the N2 interchange. What drew the developers to the site was its natural beauty as it is home to the old Shortens forest and contains a natural wetland, making it a stunning and picturesque property.

Rohan Eagar, a director and construction engineer at HBR Projects said: “Our intention is to keep as many of the indigenous trees as possible and to incorporate the wetland as the centrepiece of a conservation area that will sit in the heart of the estate. The development will consist of 105 homes, broken up into two, three and four bed semi-detached and free standing sectional title options. The bulk of the units will be priced between two and three million Rand.”

“This is exactly what the Dolpin Coast market is looking for,” says fellow director Horst Keil. “In conjunction with Hunt Properties, we did a considerable amount of market research and found there was a large demend among young upwardly mobile professionals looking for these type of homes within the Ballito area. In order to cater for this young market , HBR Projects are incorporating hi-tech elements into the design.

Bernard Lagesse, who is an architect and the third director on the HBR team elaborated on the new estate’s design ethos. “We have appointed Urbis Architects as our architects on this project and they have come up with an exciting design philosophy for Hudson Estate. The philosophy incorporates timber, exposed brick and concrete elements into a classic village setting. Home automation systems as well as sustainable energy efficient solar panelling will ensure the homes are a reflection of a modern 21st century dwelling.”
